Laurey Lou PT, DPT, CSCS
Hi! My name is Laurey Lou and I’m a Physical Therapist by way of New York Medical College and Boston College (Go Eagles!). My passion for athletics began at a young age and inspired me to play ice hockey and tennis, train in Muay Thai, compete in canine agility, complete marathons, triathlons, and Tough Mudders, spend my weekends snowboarding and playing golf, and ultimately to pursue a career in sports rehabilitation. Currently I work as a PT for China’s National Wrestling & Judo Teams in Beijing.
My treatment philosophy is a reflection of my education, current literature, and all of my clinical experiences – including my early intervention babies! I practice an integrated approach of manual therapy (including dry needling, myofascial release, and joint mobilization) with corrective exercise. My exercise program prescription is fundamentally driven by movement rather than pain, reflecting my background in the Functional Movement Systems.
I love to keep up with current news in sports medicine, especially specifically to benefit combat athletes. In addition, I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (Sports, CA/MA Sections) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Lastly, please remember that everything that I share on this website is my own professional opinion or thoughts on topics in the literature. If you need personalized, professional guidance please seek out a medical professional near you 🙂
